Sports is good for us. This statement is probably not only undisputed but also uncomfortable for many in equal measure. She is more likely to throw things in front of us that we would rather ignore. And it’s the fact that most of them move too little or not at all in their daily lives. It is quite understandable that a large and regular sports program cannot always fit into our professional and private life.

But where does the assumption that exercise is a panacea for physical ailments and illnesses come from?

Do you prefer exercise pills?

Reading the headline, most of you will probably think this is a pretty rare move. Unfortunately, it is not the case.

Over the years, doctors have found that drug treatment is often preferred by patients.

This is mainly because taking pills is much easier to manage than a regular exercise program. For this therapeutic approach to work, those affected must exercise regularly and implement it constantly. The positive effect of sports on our physical and mental health is indisputable.

How does exercise affect our body?

The positive influence of movement on our body manifests itself in different ways. On the one hand, our immune system is strengthened in a natural way, because more messenger substances such as interleukin-6 are released during sports activity, which, combined with the increase in adrenaline during the sport, strengthens immune cells.

The release of certain happiness hormones such as serotonin is also increased so that the immune system can be further strengthened. Strength training in particular and the released myokines, a messenger substance from the muscles, can reduce inflammation in the body and promote the breakdown of fatty tissue.

However, physical activity also has a positive impact on our genes which adapt to the new stress and can be modified to such an extent that certain predispositions to diseases can be weakened.

Not only does the body benefit from more exercise – so does the soul

That more and more people under depression suffering is no longer a secret. Many patients also resist the thought of having to have them treated with medication. One measure to avoid having to take this step in the first place is regular physical activity or exercise in general.

Depression can also be alleviated thanks to the effects mentioned above that exercise has on our body. It doesn’t matter whether those affected to feel like they can take charge of their lives and feel better because of it, or whether this change is due to the more frequently released serotonin, adrenaline, or something similar. Movement should be part of our life, especially for our mental well-being.

Effective remedy for high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes

Regular exercise, but at least 30 minutes 3 days a week, can lower high blood sugar levels in people with diabetes Pre-existing type 2 conditions can be reduced permanently and over the long term. It can go so far that those affected can manage without taking medication.

Patients with high blood pressure can also live healthily without medication

The same thing happens in people with high blood pressure. Thanks to increased mobility, the number of steps recommended by the WHO is already sufficient at 10,000 steps per day, and blood pressure can be reduced by up to 15 mmHg.

Here, too, the positive effect of sport can go so far that drug treatment is no longer necessary.

Effects on other diseases

Regular physical activity has been associated for several years with surgery or chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the exact effects on the actual disease have not yet been sufficiently studied.

However, it is clear that exercise has a positive effect on almost all cardiovascular diseases.

Also for regeneration after a stroke or Heart attack Movement is used as a supportive measure for healing and prevention.

Conclusion – exercise is a panacea

Considering the many positive influences that movement has on our physical health and Mental Health it can undoubtedly be considered a kind of “panacea”. This does not mean that exercise will cure us of the flu or the upcoming stomach infection.

However, by strengthening the immune system and the associated defenses, it is certainly possible to reduce one’s own susceptibility to disease or to add exercise as a support to a recovery process.
